I want to like this rack.

The ease to drop down this rack for trunk access is exceptional. Have had no problems with the rack attaching to the hitch. However - and this is a big however - no matter how securely I attach bikes with the rubber straps, they work their way out of the cradles. When doing interstate travel at 70 mph this is a problem. Sometimes the rubber straps stretch and still hold the bike to the bar (though out of the cradle) and other times they tear. Yes, I'm using the anti-sway gadget as well. In the past I've used the trunk mount Raceway Pro and never ever had this problem. I'm heading across state next week and will leave my bike at home because I don't want to stop every couple of exits to lift the bikes back into the cradles and resecure them. Don't know if the cradle design is slightly different than the Raceway Pro, but it's just not working for me. Disappointed.

Not the best choice

I've been using this rack for over 5 years in a 2x2 receiver hitch on a Honda Odyssey. The good: - It is solidly built - the locking features have been reliable - it carries 2 bikes well The not-so-good: - the cradles slide too much - the rubber "ripple" straps that hold the bike tear much too easily (haven't found replacements yet) - the anti-sway cradles fall off too easily and get lost. - it is heavy and blocks the license plate

Big and Clunky! It slips out of the receiver and it definitely is not mountain bike friendly. The straps have fallen off and the lock to the hitch does not work. I've been a Thule user for over 25 years and this will be the last Thule product I buy.
