Well worth the money

I love the Apex 4. It was easy to install and attached to my Mitsubishi PHEV withe no trouble. There was no sway in the rack as I traveled. It locked tight to the hitch.

Not Worth The Money

1

I was excited when my husband came home with this bike rack because it is so light compared to our previous one. I'm able to mount it to the hitch without his help. But that's where my independence ends. It takes the two of us to maneuver the bikes and it most definitely does not fit 4 mountain bikes. And, it is unconscionable that I should need to purchase a $50 extender bar in order to be able to fit a bike onto this rack!!! In addition, after fighting with the rack to get the bikes on, I then have no strength to pull the rubber straps tight enough around the bars. Besides, when your hands are sweaty from fighting with the rack, you're not able to get a good grip on the rubber straps. And, by the time I've gotten the bikes onto the rack, I've got no strength left for mountain biking. Its difficult taking my kids biking without my husband because I need another adult in order to get the bikes back onto the rack. Plus, a plastic seat stay has already fallen off as they are not securely attached.

So far good, and on Jeep Wrangler

Just purchased it, first use today, and very happy, but concerned about the bikes being stable reviews. Will have to watch it. I purchased this one because it works on jeep wrangler with spare tire, without a hitch extender, though rear gate opening is hindered. When putting rack in receiver put the lever in the hitch hole and pull rack out so it is as far out as it will go with the lever in the hole. Ideally test on your particular jeep at a dealer before buying. A hitch extender would fix that, but at this point I would rather not have it stick out farther. I also wanted something that would work on our Jeep Cherokee as well in the hitch. So far, all is good. Images attached
