Robust hanging-style trunk bike rack securely holds the bike (for 3 bikes).

Sponge at the bottom busted after several uses. No parts available to replace the sponge.
I used it a couple of times to carry 2 bikes and literally 2 times (to destination and back home) to carry 3 adult bikes (2 medium hardtails and 1 medium road bike) by highways (no rough roads, bumps or anything that can cause extra movement).
The rack is easy to adjust, but the weight of the 3 bikes made it shift position in a violent way, since the upper strap is connected to the side strap. So we had to stop in the highway to check and readjust the lower strap to the new position.
At the end of the trip with the 3 bikes, the high density sponge that is in contact with the vehicle in the lower arm of the rack had ripped, causing friction with the car. You can see the damage caused in the pictures.
I store the rack inside the house, away from sunlight, so if can't be damage from bad storage. To be fair I did receive it as second hand from a friend, but he had hardly used it (reason why he gave it away...)
So, if you are buying this rack... don´t believe it´s for 3 bikes unless they are very light. Thule´s website says maximum load of 105 lbs (35 per bike), and there is no way our bikes surpassed that amount (the heaviest one weights 34lbs, with seat post and peddals on, which we took off when loading them).
It attaches pretty easily to my Subaru Forester and nicely holds several bikes. But it's a tight fight for a full suspension bike.
