I am very happy with this rack

I have had the Thule EasyFold XT 90320 for several weeks. I have transported two identical Haibike XDuro Fat 6.0 2017 eBikes on a 1000-mile trip with great success. My vehicle is a 2017 Chevrolet Volt with a 1.25" hitch receptacle. I am very pleased with the rack. It is well built and performs well. To use the rack, I removed the batteries from the bikes and lashed them in an offset position using the optional long fat tire straps. The Trailer hitch has a 200lb tongue weight limit. Each bike weighs 46lbs without the battery and the EasyFold weighs 45lbs, yielding a total weight on the hitch of 137lbs, well shy of the max. It does sway on corners and in bumpy roads, but so does a 747 wing in smooth air. I think it will be fine absent applying extraordinary force to the hitch. Tightening the rack to the hitch would be easier with some adapter to increase my leverage on the hand screw. The same adapter would also be helpful to tighten the claws. I used a strap wrench with moderate results.

Compact size for storage

We own 2 Pedego electric bikes. It is a puzzle every time to fit the bikes because one tends to forget how. Bikes are scratched because the pedals knock and scrape into the other bike's frame. More space between such bikes would be very helpful. (Improvement tips for Thule design team?) I like the foldability , moveability of the rack and minimum effort to attach to car. Another feature I like is that the rack can be tilted back with bikes on the rack and have access to my trunk. The extra long straps I bought later are very expensive for it just being plastic, I think Thule could have delivered the rack with longer straps to begin with. The gutter guide to roll the bikes onto the rack I have mixed feelings about. They are flimsy, slide around and when stored inside the rack I couldn't make them fit very well, they are now parked inside my car trunk. The bike arms, to hold and lock the bikes in place, I need 2 hands to unlock them to move them around to find the right spot to attach to the bikes, all plastic (plastic/nylon?) parts and I wonder how long they will last. I personally need 2 people to load 2 bikes just to avoid scratching and nicking the bikes. But I am happy with my bike rack, it is compact when stored in garage and it has 2 wheels when moved.

Need additional tie downs

We went over a bad bump and the bikes popped out of the Acutight clamps and were dragged behind the truck (the tire wraps held the bike on the platform). We had to get the shifter and grips replaced. We now use additional ties to hold the bikes on. Maybe a design that has clamps that wrap completely around the bike so there is no chance of them popping out.
