Thule expands its bike trailer offering with the acquisition of Reacha

Thule has acquired Reacha, a German brand specializing in versatile, modular bike trailers, further strengthening Thule’s presence in the bike world. With a long history of helping outdoor enthusiasts transport their gear—whether surfboards, kayaks, or bikes—on car roof racks, Thule now expands its offering to include bike trailers that seamlessly connect cycling and watersports.

From car racks to bike trailers – a natural evolution
For decades, Thule has provided innovative solutions for transporting watersport equipment like surfboards, SUPs, and kayaks. With Reacha, we take this expertise to the next level, offering a bike trailer that allows users to transport their gear efficiently, even without a car. This expansion aligns with Thule’s mission to enable active lifestyles in a smart and sustainable way.

More reach with the global network of Thule With the extensive
Thule distribution network and global sales force, Reacha trailers will now reach a much wider audience. Around the world, more people than ever are looking for efficient, environmentally friendly ways to transport their equipment—whether for sports, commuting, or everyday use.

Modularity and smart design for active users
Reacha bike trailers stand out with their unique combination of bike trailer and hand cart functionality. With a simple handgrip, users can switch between towing their gear behind a bike or pulling it by hand—ideal for beach trips, urban errands, or outdoor adventures.

Some of the most popular Reacha models, like Sport and Sport Beach, feature an extended frame that accommodates long surfboards, SUPs, and even kayaks. This makes them an excellent solution for watersports enthusiasts who need flexibility beyond a traditional bike trailer.

Another key strength of Reacha is its modularity. The trailers can be customized with various accessories, allowing users to adapt them to different needs—whether transporting sports gear, groceries, or professional equipment. Additionally, the trailers are easy to assemble and disassemble, folding into a compact package for convenient storage or transport.

"Reacha perfectly complements our existing bike and transport solutions," says Martin Pråme Malmqvist, International Product Manager at Thule. "By bringing Reacha into the Thule family, we can offer even more ways for people to transport their gear—whether they’re heading to the beach, the trails, or the city. With the global presence of Thule, we’re excited to introduce Reacha to a whole new audience."
