Thule is redefining child safety with the launch of Connected Car Seats, an innovative sensor-based car seat system designed to provide instant and clear feedback throughout every critical step of installation, including correct harness tightening.
Integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the system delivers step-by-step guidance, important safety tips, abandoned child alert and instant safety alerts right on the car’s infotainment display, adding extra reassurance to every family adventure.
Safety starts at installation
Installing a child car seat correctly is challenging for parents. Nearly 50% are installed incorrectly, making real-life safety far different from lab test results.1
With sensor-based feedback, parents receive instant feedback on the most important safety steps on the product, confirming correct installation of the car seat and base, and a correct harness tightening on the child. Many children still ride with harnesses that are too loose; a common issue seen in 30% of infants and 40% of toddlers 2, with dangerous consequences.
Through connectivity parents receive safety reminders like removing the infant inlay or adjusting the headrest as the child grows. The connected system also provides simple solutions to complex risks, warning parents instantly with safety alerts or abandoned child alert helping parents to use the car seat correctly every day, every time.
To keep things safe and distraction free, all alerts and installation guidance appear directly in your phone, or your vehicle’s infotainment display through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, allowing parents to focus on what matters the most.

Connected Car Seats by Thule will be available in selected markets in Europe starting in September 2026 and comes in different color options: Darkest Blue, Faded Khaki and Black
