Comments about Thule Glide and Set 883:

Unfortunately it doesn't work as claimed.

The Product details claim that the "Front-mounted Set-to-Go™ form fitting saddles grip the surface of the hull for increased lateral stability and protection."

        IF ONLY!!!

Instead the gears within them appear to be plastic and they strip...and thus provide "NO LATERAL STABILITY." I've had to pull to the side of the highway far too many times to save my Ocean Kayak Malibu 2XL from sliding off the top of my Expedition. Not what I expected when I bought Thule. Unfortunately I no longer have my receipt or I would return it.

This could have been a great product had Thule used stronger material when creating the adjustable gears....you shouldn't have cheaped out!

Comments about Thule Glide and Set 883:

Second Thule kayak rack I've owned. Much easier to self load on my Pathfinder than the solid J-rack system. The rear glides work great esp. if you have them adjusted properly; my Tsunami sits like a rock even at highway speeds. Like how the front set lie flat to reduce wind noise when not in use, which is hardly ever. I much prefer this rack to the J-racks.
