Comments about Thule Canoe Carrier 579XT:

Thule has had the Aero Blade system out for well over a year now, but still has compatibility issues with some of their classic products. I was seriously disappointed to spend what I did on Aero Blades, only to find out that I cannot carry a canoe on them. Fortunately, I was able to find a 3rd party canoe carrier that bolt to the Aero Blades. I have to wonder why Thule hasn't addressed this product gap.

The canoe carrier is great, but its incompatibility with Thule's latest and greatest load bar makes it a bad choice.

Comments about Thule Canoe Carrier 579XT:

Best brackets and racks for canoes. Easy install, they will last a really long time. I have had mine on a Jeep Liberty for 10 years.... Love them - wish they had the same brackets for the xsporter truck rack, I would replace the standard brackets for these in a heartbeat.

Comments about Thule Canoe Carrier 579XT:

Just hauled 15' Canoe on the roof of Subaru Forester on vacation. Covered 1200 miles from Maryland to Quebec (through New York City) and back on both high speed expressways and rough unpaved roads. Canoe tightly secure all the way. Was able to manuever confidently in all sorts of driving situations as if load wasn't even there. Perfect stability. No noise or slippage. Easy loading and unloading and all pieces fit in small storage compartment when not in use. A lot of thought went into making this product just right.
