Thule car top carrier

Comments about Thule Step Up Wheel Step 232:
When I called Thule I was told that the outer cylinder was not produced any more and I would have to take it to a locksmith for core removal. I ended up drilling the core out myself and inserting the new core in place. It works fine but what a job. My Thule carrier is an Alantis 1600.

Fit with a front break

Seems like this rack is better for a bike with disk brake or noFront brake. Arm interfere with front brake. can't see putting stress on the brake to support the bike. Write up not very clear that it's not for MOST bikes. Whatever. It will work
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
