When mounted on your vehicle’s roof, a rooftop cargo carrier may come into contact with your rear hatch.
To determine which cargo boxes fit your vehicle without contacting your hatch, measure the front clearance. This is the distance from your vehicle's front roof rack crossbar to the point where the roof meets the hatch (see image below).
If your vehicle measures greater than the number listed below, that cargo box will fit your vehicle without contacting your hatch.
Front clearance: >1304 mm
Note: Some roof racks feature adjustable position crossbars. Moving the crossbars forward on the vehicle will increase the number of cargo boxes that fit without contacting the hatch. If you're unsure whether your vehicle's crossbars can be re-positioned, see your vehicle or roof rack manufacturer for assistance.

At the Thule Test Centerâ„¢ in Hillerstorp, Sweden, products go through extreme testing. Our cargo carriers are designed to carry your gear and fit your car as safely and securely as possible. Below are just a few examples of the many tests conducted.
We conduct multiple crash tests at different speeds and weights to see how the racks and cargo carrier protects its contents and the vehicle from damage.
Wear and tear simulations
Specialized tests that are used to evaluate the cargo carriers over time, to assess their durability and long-term performance.
Exposure tests
To evaluate the performance of cargo carriers under conditions that might be encountered during use, we expose them to extreme heat, cold, damp, sunlight and chemicals.
