Why did the brand change from Chariot to Thule?
Since 2011, Chariot has been part of Thule Group. Thule Group has taken the natural next step to rename the Chariot child carriers to Thule. The Chariot name will be maintained as a product name but the brand will change to Thule. You can follow the Thule Brigit warranty or the existing warranty procedures when there are issues with your Chariot.
Can I put an infant car seat in my Thule child carrier?
You can never put an infant car seat inside the Thule Child carriers. However, Thule Chariot Chinook and the Thule Glide series can take an infant car seat on top by using the Thule Chariot Infant Car Seat Adapter that comes with the product.
How can I stop my carrier from pulling to the right/left when I am jogging?
Ensure that the rear tires are equally inflated and check that the front wheel is centred and fully inserted in the dropouts. A child leaning to one side or excessive or bulky cargo on one side can adversely affect tracking.
If your carrier is still rolling to one direction, follow the set of instructions below:
1. Remove the front wheel from the wheel arms.
Note: If your carrier is rolling to the right, adjustments will be made to the right hand wheel arm. If your carrier is rolling to the left, adjustments will be made to the left hand wheel arm. These references to direction are made from the passengers’ point of view.
2. With a 7/16”/11mm open end wrench and a Philips screwdriver, loosen the nuts holding the aluminium dropout to the wheel arm.
3. Slide the aluminium dropout towards the front of the carrier. Start by moving half the maximum allowable distance.
4. Tighten the nuts securely and push the carrier to test if it is now rolling straight.
5. If your carrier is still not rolling straight, loosen the nuts again and slide the dropout as far forward as possible and repeat step 4.
If you find that your carrier is still not tracking straight we recommend visiting your local dealer and see if they can assist you further.
Where is the serial number located on my child carrier?
You can find the serial number of your Sport Series (Thule Chariot CX, Cougar, Cheetah) and Urban Series (Thule Chariot Chinook) by flipping the carrier over onto its left side. The serial number will be on the bar closest to the tire. The serial number on a Touring Series (Thule Chariot Corsaire, Captain) and Coaster is located inside the rear cargo compartment on the lower frame on the left-hand side.

Some tests include: side and rear impact, nose drop, suspension, tip over, and long-term durability on a very rough simulated road. All of the carriers meet international safety standards. The carriers are tested to meet or exceed ASTM and EN standards.
How old should my child be before I can start cycling/jogging/cross-country skiing/strolling?
You can start cycling with a child from the moment the child can sit upright unattended and wear a helmet. You can start jogging with a child at six months using the Thule Infant Sling or in the reclining seat position if using the Thule Chariot Chinook. Also the child needs to be able to wear a helmet. We recommend staying on smooth paths until your child is a minimum of one year old. You can start cross country skiing at six months old on trails groomed for cross-country skiers. Please keep external temperatures in mind; your child is sitting still and will require extra layers to remain warm. The Thule Bunting Bag is a great accessory to use with the Thule Cross Country Skiing & Hiking Kit. You can begin strolling with your child on smooth terrain from as early as new-born. Please note, if you choose to start strolling with any child this young, we recommend using a Thule Infant Sling or in the reclining seat position of Thule Chariot Chinook.
Are bicycle helmets required for children passengers?
We always recommend that children wear a helmet inside of the carrier when jogging or cycling. Please check your local traffic laws, for some countries wearing a helmet is obliged.
Can I use my cycling kit on motorised scooters, electric bicycles or use in-line skates?
Our carriers can be used in conjunction with electric pedal assist bicycles (E-bikes) permitting all bicycle trailer kit user manual warnings are adhered to and the maximum speed of 25kmph (15mph) is not exceeded. Please consult your local Thule dealer for correct installation and compatibility of the cycling kit. Motorized cycles with throttle control are NOT recommended. Always obey all local legal requirements. We strongly recommend against in-line skating with your child carrier as the product is not designed for in-line skating. Studies show that accidents tend to occur more often when in-line skating then while jogging or strolling with a carrier
