Nice Bag Terrible Customer Service

Took it on a two week trip and the inside of the main pocket developed a large hole in it. Called and emailed Thule. Sent pictures as ask and no response. A life time warranty is worthless if the company want contact me back. Getting ready for another 2 week trip to Africa and I will be buying a different brand. Stay away from Thule until they fix there customers service

Great backpack with big issues

I'm a full time employee, full time student and I work on film sets on the side. I require a lot out of a bag. Having said that, I like this backpack. I really do. I've heard great things about Thule's quality, and it is a well-deserved reputation. This Crossover is made of tough material that I'd take on my toughest adventures. But the pack is poorly executed and the capacity is seemingly nowhere near 32 liters. I originally had an Ogio Renegade RSS as a daily driver -- a good pack for technology, but not very tough -- that I was upgrading from because it only held 27 liters and when I joined a major film set, I needed room for work, school and film essentials in one bag and the RSS would hold everything but some of my film stuff. Unfortunately, when I got this 32 liter Thule bag, it wouldn't even hold my work and school gear without filling up to its max. I don't know if there is variance with how capacity is calculated by manufacturer, but my Ogio can hold 25% more than this bag can despite being a smaller bag. And at even a modest capacity, the front accessory pocket becomes unusable and incompliant due to the contents of the main pocket pushing on it -- something the Ogio never did even when stuffed. Overall, the style, build quality and choice of material is good, but the overall execution is flawed and the capacity claims are misleading. Still, I was impressed enough by this pack to return it and get a Subterra 34L. Having said all of this, if you arent going to be relying on using all 32L of space in this thing, this will likely be a good buy for you. But if you're in the 95th percentile of extreme backpack users needing something a bit more serious, this is not your bag. It just doesn't cut it.

Mediocre pack that looks nice

I purchased this pack to replace/upgrade my previous school/work pack. On paper the pack appeared perfect, 32L, dedicated laptop and tablet storage, glasses/sunglasses storage pocket, organization, the listed looked great. Upon receiving the pack I was excited to switch and use this more modern looking and subdued pack. I appreciated how profession it looked, understated and appropriate for my needs. The quality seemed there, stitching was mostly clean, blue accents on zipper pulls and lining were nice, light grey interior made it easy to see inside, and a nice number of small storage pockets. That is where it ended, actually utilizing the pack did not work as anticipated. First, when loading the larger compartments they press against the smaller outer pockets making them difficult to use when filled. When the laptop and tablet pockets are filled, the notebook soft pocket/sleeve is difficult to use unless you unzip is completely. Not to mention that the notebook pocket is against the back wall of the pack, meaning if the pack is full it presses against the pocket making it difficult to slide items in without catching. The glasses pocket works great, I like the design, however it pulls the pack down and always flops closed. This results in both my wife and I getting frustrated trying to leave our packs open (we each got one). The outer kangaroo pocket would have been nice but it lacks enough elastic to really stretch as need. Additionally, it presses against the smaller storage pocket so if I have a jacket in the outer pocket it becomes difficult to get pens and such from the inner pocket. As another reviewer noted, the metal hook continually comes loose and is a nuisance. The side water bottle pockets are not as deep as I would have liked, larger bottles not only are overly difficult to get it, they don't remain in, slipping out easily. There should be some type of retaining strap and/or a deeper pocket. I wanted to love this bag but I couldn't.
