Great for Rapid Aero Bars
from Charleston, SC
You may not need a pad this wide to support your board in transit, but it's still nice to have more of the load bar padded during loading/unloading. Just make sure your board isn't much narrower than the pad so that the pad doesn't interfere with your straps. As compared to the dakine aero rack pad: • 23 ¼" padded width, 26" total. Dakine is 24 ¼" padded, 27 ½" total.• Wraps and conforms to the contour of the aero bar, the top of the dakine has about 1 ½" flat top. • The dakine only pads the top of the bar. And that padding is thicker (taller), though I think unnecessarily so. • The 2" ID pipe insulation is removable from the fabric cover, the dakine cover is not removable. The dakine fabric is just a bit coarser, the Thule feels like it's gentler on the finish of the board. • Quicker to install, maybe convenient enough to remove them when you're not using them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
