Thule introduces load carrier system for professional users

MALMÖ 15 FEBRUARY 2007 - Today Thule, world market leader in utility transportation, introduces the Thule Professional range.

This heavy-duty load carrier system has been developed to meet the transportation needs of demanding professional users, for whom productivity, safety and flexibility are top priorities. The market is huge, global and fast growing.

As the world leader in the field of car transportation, Thule is now taking the next logical step into the area of load carriers for professional users. Thule’s experienced product development team has worked in close cooperation with numerous professional groups who frequently use vans and light trucks to transport material and equipment. The result is a unique and complete system of load accessories.

There is a gigantic market for Thule Professional, according to Magnus Welander, President,
Thule Car Rack Systems Europe/Asia:

“We can see immense growth all over the world as many companies already solve important parts of their logistics with the help of Thule load carriers developed for the consumer market. We have been a world leader in this area for 45 years and of course we are very proud that professionals use our products so frequently. At the same time, we have found that these users have additional demands that our consumer products aren’t actually built for. Thule Professional is our response to their needs for fast, safe and ergonomic transportation.”

The Thule Professional load carrier system features several technical innovations. The basis for the system is the heavy-duty aluminium load bar with a unique three-slot design that enables fitting of multiple accessories. The accessories include a ladder carrier that tilts down to the side of the vehicle, a load stop that can be folded to horizontal position, a conduit box designed for easy access to the load and a roof-fitted awning to shelter from harsh weather conditions. All products are made in heavy-duty materials and have undergone regorous tests for maximum safety.

Matthias Klein, Project Leader responsible for Thule Professional says:

“Our overall target with Thule Professional has been to put together a system that saves time for the users, which translates into money for their companies. This has in turn led to products that are both ergonomic and safe. The Ladder Tilt is the perfect example. Lifting a ladder onto the high roof of a working van, then fastening it with straps, is neither easy nor fast. Being able to do the entire operation from the side of the vehicle is both. Increased safety comes as a result.”

The Thule Professional range will be available on the European market in the first quarter of 2007. Prices will be set locally.
